2. The forms of taste: Festival of food excellence in Lodi

By now it's a given: the great focus on the quality of our food is not only a way to respect ourselves and the environment, but also a way to promote culture. Returning for the ninth edition is the Festival of food excellence in Lodi, also known as The Forms of Taste.

From 27 to 29 September 2019 Lodi will host a varied series of events for you to explore the main food tours to sample the local cuisine of Lodi  and Italy. The aim of Le Forme del Gusto, an event sponsored by the Lombardy Region, is to protect and enhance agricultural and food production promoting the tradition of the territory and paying particular attention to PDO and PGI products.

Food creates culture, and not only through demonstrations and cooking workshops: one of the most eagerly awaited events of the Festival of food excellence in Lodi is the traditional Lodi Raspadüra Trophy : the competitors will show their skills in the ancient technique of "raspa", that is, scraping cheese with a special knife to cut it into very thin slivers, which will melt in the mouth exalting all its bouquet and flavours.

Le Forme del Gusto is a perfect opportunity to get to know the territory of Lodi: in addition to nature trails on the waters of the River Adda, discovery of tradition will continue with the Palio di Lodi, to be held Sunday, 6 October 2019.
